We use short surveys a few times a year to see how children are feeling and find out who needs help. Our goal is to support children early and give them the help they need. Copies of the surveys will be provided in consent forms so you can see what your child will be asked before you agree. Caregivers will be involved in every step.

Screening Process

    • Caregivers can consent for their child to complete the survey, at the beginnning of the year.

    • Children with consent complete the survey three times a year, at school.

    • Children are identified by their level of needs.

    • Guardians will be contacted based on their child’s level of need on the Stage 1 survey to decide if their child would benefit from a mental health screener.

    • Mental health screeners are given within 8 weeks to children whose guardians agree.

    • Children are identified based on how much help they may need.

    • Children get connected with services based on the results of the mental health screeners.

    • Guardians will work with school staff to choose the right level of care for their child.

    • Identified children may receive reimbursable mental health services.

  • Support students:

    • who are or maybe experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties

    • who are at-risk for mental health concerns

    • School Teachers, Psychologist, Counselors, and Social Workers

    • School Nurse/O/PT, SLP

    • Community Mental Health Clinicians

    • School Administration

    • Psychology Students & Psychiatry Residents 

  • Increases students’ sense of empowerment and self-esteem.

    • Teaches essential social-emotional-behavioral skills.

    • Provides immediate mental health support.

    • Connects families with community providers as needed.

    • Reduces stigma about mental health.
