The Mountain West School Mental Health Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity formed to ensure that every child, family, and educator has access to the mental health support they need to thrive.

Through the Utah School Mental Health Collaborative and our network of school, healthcare, university, and community partners, we work alongside schools across Utah to build sustainable systems of care that strengthen student well-being, support educators, and improve outcomes for entire communities.

We envision schools where every student feels safe, connected, and supported - where families know how to access help, educators have the tools and confidence to respond to mental health needs, and barriers to care no longer prevent young people from receiving timely support.

Our work includes providing direct mental health services, training educators and school teams, strengthening school mental health systems, expanding access to care in rural and underserved communities, and developing innovative partnerships that connect healthcare, education, and community organizations.

We also conduct research and program evaluation to ensure that the services we provide are effective, sustainable, and grounded in evidence. By studying what works in real-world schools and communities, we help expand access to care, improve student well-being and educational outcomes, strengthen school climate, and reduce the need for crisis services through early identification and intervention.
